Caveman LT300

The LT300 cutter provides a portable workstation with adjustable length stop and a pneumatic powered shear for cutting wire leads to a pre-determined length. Setup is as simple as moving the slide assembly to the desired length (as shown on the integrated scale) and tightening the thumbscrew.

The cutter is actuated by depressing a footswitch (LT300F), or by passing wire(s) through the slot which hits a trigger switch (LT300A). Once a check cut has been verified for proper adjustment, you are ready to cut 10, 100, 1,000 or more pieces with extremely good accuracy.

Features

  • 5/16 inch wide cut slot will accept multiple wires

  • Compressed air driven cutting action

  • Conform to UL and OSHA safety standards

  • Inexpensive, readily available commercial cutter blades

  • Powerful cutting action cuts multiple wires up to 10 AWG copper

  • Vertical Mounting Bracket (Optional)

  • Footswitch and Internal Trigger Models

  • Scales labeled in both inches and centimeters

  • Tape Measure hook slot for longer cut setups

  • Modular Rail System up to 71 inches long

Vertical Mount Option

The LT300A cutter provides a portable workstation with adjustable length stop and a pneumatic powered shear for cutting wire leads to a pre-determined length. Setup is as simple as moving the slide assembly to the desired length (as shown on the integrated scale) and tightening the thumbscrew.

The cutter is actuated by an internal whisker switch mounted inside the housing next to the cutter blades. Passing the wires to be cut through the slot fires the cutter. Once a check cut has been verified for proper length adjustment, you are ready to cut 10, 100, 1,000 or more pieces with extremely good accuracy.

The cutter opening is a full 5/16" to accomodate bulky cable jackets, and the full bypass shears will cut up to 10AWG copper wire.

LT300A

The LT300F cutter provides a portable workstation with adjustable length stop and a pneumatic powered shear for cutting wire leads to a pre-determined length. Setup is as simple as moving the slide assembly to the desired length (as shown on the integrated scale) and tightening the thumbscrew.

The cutter is actuated by an external footswitch. Pass the wires to be cut through the slot, tension the wires and press the footswitch.

Modular Rail System

Caveman Design's Modular Rail System consists of extruded aluminum rails with stainless steel rail locks that are retained by ¼" setscrews. Figure 1 shows the top view of the intersection of two rails. The rails are precision machined to maintain scale accuracies within 1/16" over multiple lengths.

Alignment is simple. With the rails placed upside down, , tighten the first two setscrews in the position shown in figure 2. The extrusion and rail locks are designed to "self-center" during setscrew installation. The matching bevels on the rail and rail lock locate the system as shown in figure 3 . The rails are also keyed to insure proper alignment.

Slide the second rail into position and tighten other two setscrews as shown in figure 4. This is relatively simple - all it requires is a smooth flat surface to rest the rails on and some amount care when tightening the setscrews to insure proper alignment.

The system will be offered in several versions from 12 to 71 inches in various combinations of 12" and 23.5" sections.
